What do we support?

Acción Política PCUNista supports community engagement in politics! We endorse those who wants to make real change for underserved populations, including the Latinx community, and those who will better serve our community. We do not support or endorse those who use fear as a tactic to win support, those who spread stereotypes, or those who associate with any kind of prejudice, discrimination, or racism.

Teresa Alonso Leon HD 22

APP is endorsing and assisting Teresa Alonso Leon for State Representative of House District 22, Marion County (NE Salem and Woodburn). Being raised in Woodburn, Teresa is very familiar with the county, and has the previous experience to help the community thrive. Teresa represents the diversity in HD 22 and not just in terms of race. She comes from a working class family and she knows what is it like to struggle to pay the bills. She knows how to succeed when the odds are stacked against her. According to the statistics, she shouldn't have made it this far. But, she did and she is not done yet! She can take this community to the next level. Oregon needs a more reflective democracy. Teresa will be the pioneer in this effort.

Paul Evans HD 20

APP endorses Paul Evans who is the incumben candidate for House District 20. He has and will continue to support underserved communities and working families throughout his terms. During his time in the legislature in 2015-2016, Paul voted "yes" on Paid Sick Days, Ban the Box, Ending Profiling, and Minimum Wage with no farmworker exclusion. He is a champion of our families and we are proud to stand side-by-side with him.
