Growing up in the strawberry fields surrounding Woodburn, OR, I was able to experience first hand, the mistreatment of many workers. At the same time, my parents began to instill in me a love for knowledge and the passion to pursue a higher education. Once I graduated from the Academy of International Studies in Woodburn, I was able to pursue and obtain a Bachelors degree in Ethnic Studies with an emphasis in Chicanx Studies and a minor in Spanish from Oregon State University. My own experience as a farmworker has led me to be an intern for APP and fight for the rights of our people.
Fun fact: I've been to the White House and was able to hear Michelle Obama speak live, and I was able to meet Willie Nelson and Common.
