David de la Cruz
I was raised in Hermiston, Oregon. My parents immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1980s from Jalisco and Michoacán with my three older sisters and one older brother. I am the youngest. I am a recent graduate from Western Oregon University, in which I graduated with a BA in Social Science and a focus in Sociology. I am also the first in my family to earn a college degree.
I started to get involved with PCUN in January of 2016 as an intern. My reason for getting involved is because my father and sister are Campesinos, and I wanted to get involved with an organization that helps Campesinos and focus on issues that are impacting La Raza. Through my PCUN internship I became involved with Acción Política PCUNista. APP has led me to have a greater interest in politics and engage in the Latinx vote!
Interesting fact: I was part of the Omega Delta Phi fraternity during my time at WOU, and served as president during my senior year! Ohhhhhhhh Phiiiiiiiii!!!!
